Baía de São Martinho is an Integrated Resort based on high-quality parameters, and in a prime location in proximity to the bay of São Martinho do Porto. Proper integration of construction with the surroundings, elevated concern with retention of green space, recreational facilities, and the diversity of environments, are essential features for this Resort project, and that virtually guarantee its success.
Baía de São Martinho Eco-Resort, Residence, Golf & Spa is located between the parishes of São Martinho do Porto and Alfeizerão, in the Municipality of Alcobaça, District of Leiria, and belongs to the Western Tourism Region. Perfectly integrated into nature with its prime location that gives it unique privacy and exclusivity of access, the project meets all the conditions for an elevated quality of life.
In order to strengthen tourism and economic development of the Municipality of Alcobaça, this project aims to reinforce the existing tourism offer, integrating tourism activities and property development in a sustainable development model. This Resort will be the major anchor of tourism growth in São Martinho do Porto, a village with a great seaside tradition.
The Eco-Resort is only 1,000 linear meters from São Martinho do Porto bay. The access to the A8 motorway, which links to Lisbon, is 2.5 km away. São Martinho do Porto train station is 1 km away, and makes the connection between Lisbon and Figueira da Foz, on the Oeste Railway Line. The project is inserted in an exceptional setting between the beach, golf courses, spas and also between two sea ports: Peniche and Nazaré, that are both marina and fishing port.

With a low density philosophy, Baia de São Martinho Eco-Resort will host an 18-hole golf course, a tourist village and a Hotel / Apart-Hotel & Spa, Health Club, as well as Support Services, for a total of 60,000m2 of overall construction.

This project is focused on preserving the natural characteristics of the site and the environment in which it is located, in keeping with the concept of a superior quality Eco-Resort, possessing a unique community character and an environmentally-friendly approach.

The village of São Martinho do Porto, located in the municipality of Alcobaça halfway between Caldas da Rainha and Nazaré, is the most famous and important seaside resort in the municipality. The bay of São Martinho do Porto is a natural marina, unique in Portugal and Europe, in the form of a perfect shell, great for beach use and water sports.
As this natural bay is protected from the Atlantic Ocean by impressive rocky cliffs that beat back the winds and the waves, the beach has calm warm waters and unique conditions that allow its enjoyment throughout the year.
With its 3 km of beach, this maritime basin of elliptical shape is the vestige of an ancient gulf that until the 16th century ran to Alfeizerão, opened to the ocean through a sandbar of about 250 meters width, between the hills of Santana (South) and Farol (North). Due to natural its features, the Bay of São Martinho do Porto was one of the main ports of the country until the end of the last century, gradually losing its importance with the emergence of steamships.
For lovers of strong surf, São Martinho do Porto has a second beach outside the cliffs, open to the Atlantic, Praia da Gralha, a stone's throw to the North, and Praia do Salgado is the hotspot of paragliding in Portugal.
On the seaside stroll (Avenida Marginal), the cosmopolitan centre of the charming village, there are several esplanades, shops, bars and restaurants with typical regional dishes, offering the most diversified flavours of the sea.
In São Martinho do Porto, the weather is pleasant all year round. During winter the weather is mild, with rain, but many sunny days, never freezing. In the summer it is never too warm, thanks to the pleasant ocean breeze.
Good roads link São Martinho to the network of Portuguese motorways making it easily accessible.
