The Rivergate Boulevard depot sits in Portland's Rivergate Industrial District near the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, a short drive from Terminal 6, Oregon's only container terminal. Marine Drive and Columbia Boulevard connect the district to I-5 for runs north into Washington and south through the Willamette Valley toward California, and US-30 follows the Columbia west. Terminal 6 has its own on-dock rail yard with Union Pacific intermodal service to Chicago, Kansas City and Memphis, and a rail line runs along the depot's eastern edge.
