Downtown Ellijay is just five miles south of Buckhorn Estates. As the Apple Capital of Georgia, the annual Georgia Apple Festival occurs during the second and third weekends in October. This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the festival that includes a car show, amusement area, arts and crafts displays and a wide variety of foods. During the summer, Saturday night concerts are held outdoors in downtown Ellijay.
