Description

Welcome to the awesomeness of the Alaskan Copper River Basin! Opening for business in 1996, the Golden Spruce has been a Kenny Lake mainstay for over 25 years. John and Patty have welcomed visitors for decades to the majestic Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the Copper River Valley, and the awe-inspiring villages of McCarthy and Kennicott. The Golden Spruce is comprised of seven primary structures: The restaurant and gift shop, five rental cabins, and an owner residence. All buildings were meticulously hand built by John from the trees located on the property.

The restaurant is a stunning example of old-world log craftsmanship and dedication. From its octagonal footprint to the Swedish over-scribe log work nothing was overlooked. Restrooms and shower facilities are in the rear of the building, providing guests access, while minimizing disruption in the front for dining guests.

The rentals cabins are log, single-room studio style structures. Each is fully furnished with log framed beds, Toyo heaters, microwaves, and coffee pots. The sleeping configurations vary by cabin with one unit being a bunk house style.

The owner residence is located near the back boundary of the property and boasts the same stunning over-scribe craftsmanship as the restaurant. There is a sauna located behind the home to relax those sore muscles and reenergize. The home is ready for your finishing touch and personalization.
