Description

It was the late 1990's and the City of Gulfport was expanding itself north of Interstate 10 into the area known as Orange Grove. It was about that time Mr. & Mrs. Lanier had finished building their 2,000 square foot home, and decided to ask their new Government if they could put a mobile home on their land. Their property was now zoned Business Residential, If they wanted a mobile home, they'd have to build a minimum of seventeen (17) mobile home lots.. So, a few engineers, a general contractor, and numerous zoning, planning and city council meetings later, boom! A mobile home park. And this isn't a grandfathered as a mobile home park, this was one blessed by the city 20 years ago....and, it can accept RV's (contact the City of Gulfport Zoning for details). Beach and warm weather. We welcomed 14.2 million visitors per year, amounting to total expenditures of $1.816 billion.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast has lived up to its reputation as the playground of the South. Just pick a month, and there will be a grand celebration up and down the Coast. The Coast hosts the USA's largest classic car venue, "Crusin' the Coast, about a month after the parades and Mardi-Graz Balls are cleaning up (yes, New Orleans doesn't have all the fun!) RV parks are big down here. Look at us our Gulf Coast as Florida at a bargain price!

A mixture of RV's, a modular home, and 11 park owned late model mobile homes. The tenants tend to stay a very long time.  Among the park owned mobile homes sits a  modified "Katrina Cottage" next to a pad where a tenant to built a fence around his lot containing his upscale travel trailer. Traditionally, this park has catered to the medium to medium low income population. The current owners have been focused on quality of tenants as opposed to keeping all lots filled. The current owners charge $450 per month for lot rentals and up to $550 for Park Owned Mobile Home rentals.
