Description

The Anderson Island General Store (AIGS) is the only general store on Anderson Island and provides a range of valuable services to the community, including general groceries, goods, gasoline, U-Haul & rental equipment, and a café.

In 2009 the main building was renovated to increase the square footage and add a prep/deli/bakery area and additional retail space. When this was done the electrical was brought up to code and the asbestos was removed. AIGS is contracted by USPS to provide a contract post office and receives a stipend of $1,700 /month to offset the cost.

The property has been surveyed and plans are available with the county for a storage rental facility to be built. There is also room in the zoning for professional office space, healthcare and more.


Anderson Island is a peaceful haven located in the Puget Sound. It can only be reached by ferry boat and is primarily residential. The Anderson Island General Store is centrally located with approximately 700 feet of frontage on the main road running directly from the ferry docks.
