Jack Osteen joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Cornerstone in August, 2017 as licensed Real Estate Professional. Jack brings more than 25 years of success in media, advertising, publishing, marketing, restaurants and real estate to CBC Cornerstone.
Over the years, Osteen has worked on various commercial and economic development deals with both the city and county of Sumter. He currently serves on the Sumter Economic Development Board and the Sumter Smarter Growth Initiative Board. He also serves as Chair of the Economic Restructuring Committee for Downtown Sumter. In 2015, Jack was named Business Person of the Year by the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his commercial and business success, Jack has bought and sold several properties in downtown Charleston and currently owns and manages several rental properties of his own. Recently, Heritage Historic Properties, LLC where he is a partner recently developed a mixed-use project in Downtown Sumter.
Jack is also a partner with the Sumter Investment Group that opened Wild Wing Café in Columbia in 2005.
Prior to joining CBC Cornerstone, Jack served as Publisher for more than 12 years of his family’s newspaper, The Sumter Item. He is co-owner of Osteen Publishing Co. and OPC News, LLC which owns newspapers and other media products in Florida, Alabama and New Mexico.
He has served as President of the South Carolina Press Association, President of the YMCA Board, Chairman of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the United Way Board, President of the Sumter Rotary Club where he was named 2015 Rotarian of the year. In 2016 he was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award by former Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh. Jack is a 5th generation Sumterite and is a graduate of Woodberry Forest High School in Virginia and the University of South Carolina-Columbia with a degree in Political Science and minor in business. He is married to Susan Doherty Osteen of New Braunfels, Texas and they have a daughter Elise and a son John.
