June 2010 to Present: Commercial Broker for Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach, Realtors. Specializing in Zoning, Planning, REO, and Bank Workouts, as well as Residential Brokerage; analysis of building yields on vacant land, resale and new construction.
1996 to Present: JPL Property Group, LLC. Managing partner of a construction company specializing in residential and commercial renovations, new homes as well as land development since 1996. Main responsibilities include licensing/permits, approvals, contracts, as well as assisting buyers in the designing home layouts, selection colors and other amenities.
Community Service: Chairman of Somers Point Planning Board since 2009. Served as a member of the Somers Point Zoning Board of Adjustment for 19 years. Also chair of the subcommittee for the Vision Plan 2025
Executive Board of the Atlantic City & County Board of Realtors: Nominated in 1990 serving 5 terms as a Director as well as holding positions of Chairman of the By-Laws and Professional Standards Committees. Named 2009 Realtor of the Year for promoting Home Ownership and assisting other agents and brokers in understanding new rules, regulations and statutes.
South Jersey Regional MLS: Nominated in 2006 to serve as a Director to the board which duties include reviewing vendor contracts, budget recommendations, and testing of new systems.
Real Estate Career: Licensed in October of 1984 as a salesperson and received Broker’s License in July of 1988. In 1989, named Office Manager of Weichert’, Realtors, Ocean City branch until being appointed the manager of the Brigantine Office in 1990. In March of 1992 became Office Manager of the Northfield Weichert Office until April of 1995.
Vanguard Property Group, Inc. In April of 1995, along with two other brokers, purchased the business assets of the Northfield Weichert Office and developed the business into the leading commercial brokerage company in South Jersey as well as a dominate non-franchise residential company in the region. In June of 2010 merged the company with Prudential Northfield Fox & Roach, Realtors
Bally’s Park Place Casino & Hotel: From January 1981 to October 1985 held several management positions at Bally’s Park Place in Atlantic City, NJ. Specialized in revamping operations from new menus, signage, customer service and increased profitability.
Education Background: Attended Delaware Valley College and Bloomsburg College for Business Management and finished with a degree in Food Service & Housing from Pennsylvania State University in 1980
Personal Background: Married to Lindsey Scavo since 1981. Hobies include golf, designing homes, and placement of rescued/abandoned animals with new owners.
