I was born in Hermosa Beach California, lived in Princeton New Jersey and Poughkeepsie NY until age 4, then San Jose, Palo Alto, and San Francisco before moving to Guadalajara Mexico for a year and a half in 1965-66 where I learned fluent Spanish. After working for the North Face Factory in electrical engineering then production control, I married Alice, a Brazilian, learned fluent Portuguese, and started a real estate career in 1975 in the SF East Bay Area. Porsche racing, enticed me into purchasing a Porsche-Audi, VW dealership with partners and I became the general manger. This lead to sales and sales management at Beverly Hills Porsche Audi, then back into real estate with Marcus and Millichap, in Long Beach, CA. Once my son and daughter were in school, I starting Integrated Composition Systems with my wife, a book composition and prepress company in 1987 which took us to Tahoe City, and then to Spokane in 1992. Father-son projects started with building a kayak, then a 23-foot gaff-rigged schooner, and then restoring a 35-foot junk-rigged ocean-going schooner in the Sound. My wife, Alice gave the ultimatum—“me or the boat”, and the schooner was sold to save the marriage. A new project, building a car to solve traffic congestion became the next obsession. Cars the size of motorcycles that could double lane capacity and fit 4 to a single parallel parking space became the next project. The Tango, as the electric car is called, has the weight and crash protection of a mid-sized car, the rollover threshold of a 911 Porsche, the dimensions of a Harley motorcycle, with supercar acceleration. 12 cars were built, the first sold to actor George Clooney, followed by sales to tech billionaires in Silicon Valley and some international sales. I'm excited to get back into real estate with Coldwell Banker Huntington Beach, CA, and Coldwell Banker Tomlinson in WA and ID, where I work with superb teams supporting all my real estate experience. My recreational passions, starting at 4 years old are: backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, figure skating which turned to ice dancing at 11 years old, then as an adult, road racing, long-distance running, mountain biking, sailing, and Salsa dancing. I'm fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
