Notable Development Projects
Early in his career, Ron bought, restored and/or converted several structures into approximately 60 apartments in the Norwich area. He later sold these and acquired large tracts of land, which he subdivided into approximately 600 residential building lots.
In 1985, Ron obtained prime land on Main Street in Willimantic where he developed, and currently owns and manages Tyler Square, a fully leased 80,000 sf office/retail shopping center. All tenants have AA credit rating and include AutoZone, Dollar Tree, Sherwin Williams, Taco Bell, CT Veterans Administration, CT Department of Labor, Social Security Administration, State Judicial Department, and State Library.
In 1999, Ron developed a new freestanding Rite Aid in Willimantic, CT.
Ron purchased land and gained approvals for a 68 unit apartment complex in Norwich which he sold just prior to construction. This resulted in a 1031 exchange into land he purchased in Old Saybrook, CT (now known as Max’s Place).
Max’s Place is a 128,000 sf retail shopping center in Old Saybrook, CT that opened in September 2014. It is co-anchored by Kohl’s, and Big Y. Other retailers in the project include ULTA Beauty, Pet Valu, Five Guys and SuperCuts, just to name a few. Mr. Lyman has worked very closely with local planning and zoning boards on this New England style architectural development to make sure all requirements are met and expectations are exceeded in the shoreline community.
