Thomas Ashforth joined RM Friedland in November 2024 as Co-Managing Director to drive the firm’s expansion into Connecticut. He is responsible for new business development, investment sourcing and underwriting, recruiting, and overseeing brokerage operations, with a focus on leasing and sales assignments.

Previously, Mr. Ashforth served as Senior Vice President at Lincoln Property Company since 2016. Prior to Lincoln, he was a Principal at Transwestern, where he led the Connecticut office, handling brokerage business development and recruiting. Before that, he was Senior Vice President of Investments at The Ashforth Company, directing the firm’s East Coast acquisitions. Earlier, at Hines, he managed acquisitions, leasing, and redevelopment of Class A properties in New York City and Connecticut.

Mr. Ashforth began his real estate career in 1985 at Ashforth’s Management Services Division, managing premier office properties in Fairfield County, Connecticut. He holds a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MS in Real Estate from NYU, as well as an RPA designation from BOMA. He is also a member of REFA and a former board member and Chairman of Family Centers, a nonprofit based in Greenwich, Connecticut.
