Bio
William A. Foster, IV is a native Houstonian. He was born and raised on Houston. Following in his mother's family footsteps he attended Virginia State University to become a fourth generation graduate of the institution, obtaining a bachelor's in economics with a concentration in finance. Later, he would go on to attend Prairie View A&M University where he was a second generation graduate of his father's family, obtaining a master's in community development and urban planning.
Professionally, he launched a small business consulting firm while still in college helping new small business owners write business plans and obtain financing. After graduation, he became a banker for Wachovia Bank. He would then move on to SNL Financial where he served as a bank & thrift analyst. Ultimatley, his family's entrepreneurship history called and he launched a hospitality and digital media business upon moving back to Houston in 2010. He joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Anderson Properties in June of 2014 serving commercial and investor clients.
In the community, he serves on the board and as treasurer for the Center for HBCU Media Advocacy, based in Baltimore, MD. He is also the founder and executive director of the HBCU Endowment Foundation. Always a faithful alumnus, he oversees the Alexander-Williams Economics Endowment at Virginia State University. From time to time, you may also see his guest contributions in local and national publications covering business, real estate, and economics.
